As per legend, the Seven Lucky Gods arrive in towns on New Year’s Eve aboard the Takarabune ship to distribute good fortune for the upcoming year. Each deity carries a specific treasure or symbol representing their blessings.

2. Daikokuten – the god of wealth, commerce, and trade.
3. Bishamonten – the god of warriors and protector of the Buddhist faith.
4. Benzaiten – the goddess of knowledge, art, and beauty.
5. Fukurokuju – the god of happiness, wealth, and longevity.
6. Hotei – the god of abundance and good health.
7. Jurojin – the god of wisdom and longevity.
